David Carr
Here are the wonderful nomination letters for Mr. Carr.1st Letter: David Carr is the 8th Grade Teacher and Vice Principal at Immaculate Conception Regional School. He is a "Highly Qualified" Math Teacher and teaches 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Math. He is a math tutor during the school year and during the summer. At Immaculate Conception School, he is the Ski Club and Track Club coordinator, a member of the Education Council and the Chairperson of the "Dirty Dozen" Crew. The "Dirty Dozen" Crew is a group of parents who, during the summer, maintain and improve the building and grounds of the school. This summer, as well as other summers, David Carr worked side by side in the heat with parents cutting down trees and digging up roots and concrete posts in our playground to expand the playground so that the children had more room to play. He hauled and spread mulch. He moved numerous desks in the building, fixed many things that needed attendance and made many trips to Lowe's and Home Depot. David Carr always exhibited a positive attitude and made it fun to be working so hard in the heat during the summer when we all could have been elsewhere. In addition to all this, David Carr is a football coach at Wallkill Valley High School and is a counselor at Wallkill Valley Football Camp in the summer. At Immaculate Conception School, David Carr is always very respectful to the children and never raises his voice when disciplining. He is a positive role model for boys, as well as girls. He is a humble person who never looks for a "pat" on the back. Many parents to whom I have spoken feel the same way as I do and we appreciate him being at our school. We want him to know how much he means to us and that he is truly an asset at Immaculate Conception!
2nd Letter: Mr. Carr is a consummate professional. He works exceptionally hard at keeping the much needed communication between home and school timely and accurate. In addition, Mr. Carr will always be available to help with improvements to the school itself by volunteering both his time and materials. We are truly blessed to have him at our school.
