Linda Pohlmann

Teachers can and do make a difference every day in the lives of children, families and the community. To salute those who devote themselves to the teaching profession WSUS and EMBARQ have teamed up to honor a local teacher each month as the "Teacher of the Month.!"

Students, parents and peers can nominate a teacher they feel is that special one who makes the difference and tell us why. A teacher who has helped students with their unique techniques, who has volunteered their time for extra studies, who participates in school/community events or anything else you feel they have done to qualify.

The winner for May is Mrs. Linda Pohlmann from Immaculate Conception School

Here is the wonderful nomination letter for Mrs. Linda Pohlmann

I am a student at Immaculate Conception School in Franklin. I nominated my 5th grade teacher for Teacher of the Month. Please consider Mrs. Linda Pohlmann as Teacher of the Month. She is a great teacher who goes above and beyond to make sure that every single student succeeds. She gets down on our level and makes us all feel like we are the most important people in the world to her. She offers extra help to anyone at any time. She is one of the teachers who does homework club at our school and anyone throughout the school can go to her for help. She especially likes to teach social studies. The 5th grade class trip is to Jockey Hollow and she is as excited to go as the first time that she went, even though she has been there 7 times before with students. She has a reputation for being a “tough” teacher. She can be tough. But when you walk out of her class there is no doubt that you are prepared for 6th grade and even beyond. She makes learning fun and challenging. She enjoys seeing her students visit who have gone on to High School or even beyond. She loves to see that they have been successful. Unfortunately, Mrs. Pohlmann is retiring at the end of this school year. We are all very sorry to see her go. The students and the other teachers will miss her. I had my fellow 5th grade students complete nomination forms for Mrs. Pohlmann and I will be dropping them off at the station. Thank you for considering Mrs. Pohlmann.
